What hapened to Kelton?

Kara talked Kelton into dressing up in Halle's clothing! They thought they were sooooo funny! Yes he even squished his little feet into her jellies!
Ballet on top! It was a little scary for me as he looked so cute as Halle!

This is Halle as Kelton! Kara in the background taking all the credit for the magnificent idea! And showing Kelton how to do a good ballet pose!

O.K so this was a little over the top! Ballet Kelton! Is this the little boy who asked me in horror while watching Halle's ballet class (a boy was in Halles ballet class) "Why does that boys mom make him do that??" Yes this is that little boy coerced by his big sister!
The funny thing is I remember me and my sister doing this to all of my little brothers, and they were cute little girls too!!

Ruby Reds!

Halle found this dress in my mending (it has been there a long time since I don't mend). She woke up this morning and this is what she came down wearing! I had to take a picture, because she reminded me of the little match girl with her hair crazy, her little house on the prairie dress, and her ruby red shoes (which she wears everywhere she goes). She saw this picture of herself and she said, "Mom I told you to do my hair in two ponytails!"
Brent tells Halle to go get her church clothes on (as soon as these words come out of his mouth I am thinking bad idea, but the deed was done). As you all probably know it is hard to change someones outfit when you are the one who told them to pick it out! So here is what my crazy little 3 year old chose to wear to church. A necklace, a tie, a green dress, and pink boots. She absolutely did not want to give up the tie, and Hayden did not help by telling her some girls do wear ties!
So here is a funny story that has nothing to do with this post, but it is funny! I have a hard time keeping my stories short, so just skip this unless you need a good laugh! So today is a busy day for me and so I know I have to be up early if I want to get my work out in. So I get up and am hurrying to get ready to go out to the garage to exercise. I am brushing my teeth when all of the sudden out of my closet crawls (for all you who know the other mouse story) a mouse! I of course scream at the top of my lungs (let me remind you it is early, and Brent is still in bed), so the mouse of course is scared because I just scared him! He moves backwards and so I scream at the top of my lungs again. I hate mice or any type of rodent! Brent starts yelling what what, but all I can do is scream every time the mouse moves. The mouse runs into the toilet area and so now he is cornered. Well he thinks he is trapped because every time he starts to come out I scream. Brent finally gets out of bed after lots of screaming by me. Someone could have killed me by now. I tell him about the mouse between screams, and he tells me to please stop screaming in his ear! He absolutely hates when I get scared, because I scream, even at the movies, any how that is another story. So now here comes the funny part. Brent is in his under ware, but he does put on his tennis shoes, and he grabs a plastic bowl from the kitchen. Then he tells me to close him in the little tiny toilet area with the mouse and put a towel across the door way to keep the mouse from crawing under the door! I told him he better not let the mouse out! So then he goes to town yelling and hollering at the mouse! I almost peed my pants laughing. I wish you all could have been here for it (and seen Brent in his under ware, and tennis shoes trying to catch a mouse)! The mouse was speedy fast and Brent had the hardest time catching it. He finally did catch it. Then of course being the Peta people we are(LOL) we spared the mouse. Brent was just going to put him outside the house, but I was afraid he would just come back in, so Brent took the mouse to some far away field before the kids woke up and begged us to keep him for a pet (gross). So of course my work out was cut short today, and my house looks like a bomb, and dinner is probably not going to happen(: I hate mice!!!!! Last year we had a mouse just about this time of year too!!!! Thanks to Uncle Mark for catching that one with his gloved hands!!!

Medicine Ideas???

Medicine Lady! So here she is taking her medicine! She is suppose to take her medicine 4 times a day and she hates it! So making a stubborn 3 year old drink 30ml of liquid that tastes yucky 4 times a day is one of my dreaded chores. Today we tried drinking through a straw! I also had told her it was a secret potion that would turn her into a fairy princess, but if she did not drink it it would turn her into a frog (what a mean mom). She didn't believe me, but it only took her 10 minutes to drink it rather than the normal 20 minutes. I have laced it with grape juice too, but that doesn't seem to help. The hardest is when I say time to take your medicine and she looks at me and in the sweetest voice ever says, "No thank you mom!" So if you have any excellent ideas for medicine taking I'm all up for a new idea!

Halle told me today out of the blue, "Mom I love trees and birds, but I don't like basquitos, or flies!" I don't like the flies or basquitos either.

Halle also asked me today if she could go to school. I told her Miss Jen was sick (her teacher, it is also not a school day, she goes across the street 2 days a week for 2 hrs to our neighbors and she thinks it is sooooo fun!) She then asked me in a very worried voice, "Did Miss Jenn eat peanuts?" She was so relieved that Miss Jenn did not eat peanuts, but I don't think she quite understood that Miss Jenn isn't allergic to peanuts, so they don't make her sick like they do Halle!!

Spider Plants

This was my gift from Brent today! I really wanted a spider plant! Have you heard about spider plants? NASA research has consistently shown that living, green and flowering plants can remove several toxic chemicals from the air in building interiors. You can use plants in your home or office to improve the quality of the air to make it a more pleasant place to live and work – where people feel better, perform better, and enjoy life more(NASA research).
If you want a spider plant you can actually just plant one of these flowers from off my spider plant. So come get your flower to plant your own. I heard they don't kill easily so it is worth a try!

RANDOM

I haven't really been up to blogging and my camera which I completely love is acting up! For some reason it is not focusing correctly! I am not a gadget guru so of course I won't be able to fix! Hmmm maybe I'll give it to my little six year old gadget man! Worth a try he doesn't charge either (:!! Cousin Lexi and Aunt Kerri came through on their way to take Lexi to school and we all went to see Georgie play football! Hayden became the photographer and took a lot of great pictures for us! Since going back to school I have learned from his school journal that he may want to be a photographer if engineering a robot does not work out, but in the mean time he is collecting any junk you have (ugh more clutter for his room) this includes old toasters, empty bottles and cans, etc. Who knows what kind of robot this will be, but hopefully it will be a cleaning cooking robot!
George holding this giant boy! GO GEORGIE!!! George is our cousin and we just love him!

He definitely has the moves! Hayden caught these photos!!

I thought this was so funny of the little boy on the other team!

Looking into Daddy's eyes! Oh and see those cute little ears I keep forgetting to write about us getting her ears pierced. In a prior post I mentioned how Halle really wanted to get her ears pierced. Well Nat (my sis) and me and Halle ended up at the mall, and all of a sudden Halle's ears were pierced! She was so brave and just sat there so still and was so unbelievabley excited! I really would not believe a 3 year old wanted to get their ears pierced if I did not have one that did! She did cry after. I told her it would hurt, but I think she was surprised by the pain after. She was quickly distracted by all the jewelry in the store and quickly got over the pain. It was really fun! Brent on the other hand was not happy about it at all!!! I knew he was against the ear piercing thing, but I didn't really think he was that against it. He thinks ear piercing is for when your 16 or something. Anyways since Halle had her ears pierced Kara then also decided she wanted them pierced. Brent said, "How am I suppose to tell our 7 year old NO when you pierce our 3 year old ears?" So needless to say Me, Halle, Kara, and Aunt Nattie all got to go to the mall and get Kara's ears pierced! I seriously can't believe how much fun it was, and Brent thinks they look cute too!

So here is Halle holding up a huge blurry leaf!! I really hope summer stays a little longer or maybe we can just skip winter! Also my sister Nat made me this cute little Caterpillar chore chart!!!! WE LOVE IT!! You should have her make you one too!(:

Kelton puts together about 4-5 puzzles every day when he gets home from school. I think it is fun that he loves puzzles so much. He came home the other day discussing how he does not get rainbow because the teacher does not see him doing nice things (you get rainbow if you do something great) so I was telling him that actually it is best if no one sees you do nice things because then you have a rainbow in your heart(I won't go into the whole explanation). Kelton then told me, "Mom most kids don't get excited when they get a rainbow in their heart only when it is on paper." Then today Kelton came home with rainbow and was very excited about it. He told me "Mom I got rainbow today! I got a rainbow on my paper and in my heart too mom!"

Halle added a little gel to her hair today!

These pumpkins are growing out of control in my backyard!!! I can't believe it!

These pairs are growing on my trees and they actually taste good!

These apples are also growing in my backyard and taste good too!! I don't know it just is so amazing to me when things just grow like crazy and you can eat them out of your backyard. I have never been one for getting things to grow so I guess I'm surprised that things are growing! The apples and pears have been falling off the trees like crazy which did cause numerous ants to come out of hiding, and we did work all day trying to prune the trees in the backyard (well I guess I should say Brent did, I never last very long at stuff like that, I'd probably end up cutting down the whole tree).

Busy Bodies!

This guy is always just doing things himself. Halle actually said, "Mom get the camera and take a picture of Kelton!" Kelton scales the walls in order to unlock the high bolt I installed to keep him in the house! See how he stands on the crown molding and then leans over and unlocks the top bolt. This particular day I was going a little crazy as the kids wanted to play everywhere except for the designated play areas(aka the playroom and the backyard). Lets see they only wanted to be in the garage or in the front yard which means I have to be present.
Halle came to me and said, "Mom I need to give you a shot, it will only hurt a little bit, but you'll be O.K." I think Halle might actually like getting her blood taken if the nurse wore plastic princess shoes and a Tiara!

A funny things Halle said to me. By the way Halle has a problem with using a very loud voice (that is the nice way of saying she yells a lot). So we have been working on this by well lots of naughty bench time. So her little friend comes to play and I told her little friend if Halle yelled to come tell me, so of course she came and told me, Halle was very apologetic (she did not want to sit on the naughty bench, she thinks it is horrible to sit on a bench in the hall for 3 minutes). So I say somewhere in there that she is a STINKER! Later I am talking to someone and I say, Halle had a friend over today, and Halle chimes in with "and I was a stinker!"

Back TO School!!

Yeah School!! These pictures are in reverse order of what I wanted, but last time I tried to switch them into a cute order I ended up just messing everything up! So forget that! I am on a limited blogging time schedule! We are sad about summer ending, but boy is it nice to get back on a schedule! I get a little sad about how quickly time goes by and how fast they grow! Goodbye to my cute Hayden! Hayden started 4th grade!!!!
Goodbye Kara and Kelton!!! Kara took good care of Kelton on his 1st day of kindergarten. She made sure he got to his class line and was quite the little mother hen. His little cousins Georgie and Reggie also helped our little Kelty.

Hayden making a silly face before he got on the bus! He is growing up so fast!!
This face scared the girls in his class last year, so now he does it all the time!

Sweet Kara started 2nd grade. She wanted a boy back pack this year! Who knows why??

Kelton was very excited to ride the bus and start school. When he got home from school he said I made a new friend today, now I have 4 friends instead of just 3!

Waiting for the bus! Kara giving Kelton the inside scoop to bus riding!

OFF TO SCHOOL!
So today I decided to stay home and make pumpkin cookies and some Zucchini Bread. By the way I don't really like to bake, but I do like to have homemade snacks around for the kiddos. So anyways I started making the cookies and then moved onto the Zucchini Bread. Half way through the Zucchini bread recipe I realize I am actually making Chocolate chip cookies! UGH! The zucchini bread recipe was on the other page. I know it seems dumb, how could I not realize I was making cookies. I was actually thinking "huh, I don't remember the Zucchini bread having 1 cup of butter, and 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of brown sugar, but I guess it does!" Well I decided to throw some zucchini into the cookies. Well see if the kids like them. So this is why I never get the things done that I want to because I have a scattered brain! Is there a scattered brain disease? If there is I am sure I have it!
