Halle Thoughts!

Halle and I were having a discussion on why we can't touch our eyeballs. She said she really wanted to touch her eyeball and then decided she would try to touch it with a comb. I proceeded to tell her about why we should never stick objects in our eyes and how our eyes are very sensitive. I told her a story about a lady. Her brother had shot an arrow and it hit her in the eye, and now she can't see. She then asked, "well did Jesus come and help her?" I said, "No" and she said, "So did they drive to go see Jesus?" I said, "No I think they just drove to the hospital, you can't drive to see Jesus." Then Halle proceeded to pull a map out of the drawer and said, "Mom show me here on this map where Jesus lives." I then told her I couldn't show her on the map because heaven is not on the map." I then asked, "have you ever seen Jesus?" She said, "No, have you seen Jesus?" I said, "No, most people only see Jesus after they die." She looked at me and said, "I don't want to die" she then continued and said, "mom's don't die, right!" I said, "well everyone dies Halle, but most people won't die until they get old. You know Nanny she is getting older.... Halle piped in with "and great grandma is getting older too." I said, "yes, so we want to spend as much time with them as we can because they won't always be with us." She then said, "That will be so sad mom, we are going to be so sad with out Great Grandma and Nanny."
I love these little conversations I have with my sweet little girl.

I looked at her today and said, "I 'm sure going to miss you when you go to school all day!" She said, "I don't want to go to school all day. I think I just want to stay here with you." I hope she always stays so innocent and sweet. I'm sure she'll change her mind about being home with me all day. She loves to play with friends and would stay all day at someone elses house if I would leave her. Every time she has a playdate and I come to pick her up she says, "I didn't stay too long, mom!"

STRONG GUY!!

This is what Kelton likes to do! If there is a door way or something to climb there is Kelton!

Kelton does pull-ups in the doorways for fun! It looks easy, but try doing pull-ups with just your finger tips! Hayden and Kara thought it looked easy so they climbed up to give it a try, not as easy as it looks!
Nice muscles Kelt!

Love that smile!

He even does the body pull-up!

Kelton said "Mom you know my teacher she can tell if your writing your letters wrong even when she is not looking! You know she said, Max that is not how you write your G's and she was not even looking at him! And you know what mom I believe her!!"

Kelton was complaining about some new shoes he had just gotten and Brent was saying "I can't believe you did not tell us these hurt in the store!" Kelton replied, "they're comfortable, but they hurt sooo bad!"

Reading!

Big brother Hayden has been reading "Peter and the Star Catchers" to Kara and Kelton before they go to bed. Hayden loves to read. He want's to share all his favorite books with Kara and Kelton. Sometimes they are not as excited as he is about reading, but they try to be enthused.

Hayden has really grown up, but he's still just a little boy. He likes to come in and snuggle in bed with us and read his books. He also is always begging one of us to lay by him. When I give him hugs he tends to linger and just stands there and hugs me back for as long as possible. I don't know if he feels like he is growing up and trying to hang on to that last little bit of childhood, but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts (Hayden's never been my big snuggler, he's always been to busy for that kind of stuff). I'm sure one day I'll wake up and he really will be all grown up or maybe he'll always just be that little boy who can't get enough play time in.

Halle reading a Goodnight Story to her baby!

I came up the stairs to find Halle reading to her babies and then tucking them all into bed. She is going to be a good mommy someday!

Halle's Preschool!

I decided to teach preschool this year! My emphasis is reading, but boy do we have lots of fun! Every Thursday after reading we go to Grandma's house for a cooking class! We have learned to make all sorts of things.

Halle pouring her ingredients.

I love this picture! I was pretending to be the big bad wolf and they were the 4 little pigs! They loved it!

Halle writing her name!

Halle writing her name again!

Playtime!

Painting apple trees! Their arms were the trunk and the side of their hands were the leaves! Then we used cork for the apples and different shaped sponges for the people picking the apples. They turned out really cute!

Play dough.

Teddy Bear Picnic!

Cooking Class! We went in disguise!

Greasing our pans!

What a great cook!

Stirring with Grandma!

All about me week! Halle with her baby picture!

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather! Snack time outside!!

Halle cutting and pasting!

I made me books for the kids! The last page was a picture of each kid that said "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world!" I thought they turned out really cute!!

Painting!

Tea time!

The kids made these aprons for our cooking classes! It says "Don't BUG Me I'm Cooking." Then the kids used their fingerprints to make little bugs on their apron. Grandma came up with the great slogan all on her own.

Halle loves preschool and so do I! I have a preschool blog but it is private so I'll just try to keep updated with some of Halle at preschool!

Kelton with his ME!

Kelton made this at school for back to school night!
He decided to put it on and pretend to be himself!

A few days ago Kelton went to Reggie's house to play. Reggie's mom had instructed him not to open the door for anyone. When Kelton came home he told me, "Aunt Natalie said, Reggie can't open the door for anyone not even me!" I said, "Oh really why?" He said, "because it might be a bad guy dressed up like me!" Now that would be one scary bad guy!!(:

First Day of School!

I can't believe school is back in session! The kids all love school and they love their teachers! Kara came home so excited about her class. She couldn't' t sleep the next night she was so excited to go back to school!

With all the Budget cuts due to the economy the bus has been a nightmare!

To the bus we go!
Oh I forgot to mention that Kara got bumped to another bus on the way home from school and ended up getting off at the wrong stop, so we had a little scare that day when everyone got off of the bus, but our sweet little Kara! Thank goodness someone at the bus stop called me and took Kara over to the gym where Brent was working.

We had to enlist Grandma to create some order at the bus, unfortunately we just were moved to a new bus with a new crazy chaotic stop! At least the kids now are always on the same bus, it took them a month to decide that their system of going to the bus stop and filling the bus to capacity and then radioing in for another bus to come pick the rest of the kids up was lame!

Our new bus stop is a little crazy, but Grandpa has already written in to get things changed at the new bus so it will be safer for the kids. What would we do with out Grandma and Grandpa looking out for all the kids in the neighborhood. Grandma even made sure everyone in the neighborhood gets a ride home from the bus. Don't you wish they were your neighbors.

The other day Kara had a substitute teacher. I asked her if she had a good day and she said "no." She always seems to have a great day so I asked, "why didn't you have a good day(of course thinking it was beacause she had a substitute teacher and she missed her teacher)?" She said, "because I had a bad lunch!" Well guess who made her lunch? Yes, that would be me. She does not like sandwiches, and I put a sandwich in her lunch (nice fresh wheat bread, homemade turkey and a little Italian dressing all of which separated she likes)! I was tired of heating something up for her thermos and decided to sneak a sandwich in. What a way to ruin a kids day! The sandwich came home in the lunch box.

Kara got a hold of Halle's play phone while I was listening and this is her one sided conversation Kara "Do you have a lot of chores?.... Oh me too I have tons of chores!... I just hate chores!... Oh really..... I just finished.... I mean what the heck...well maybe later... oh o.k. I'll call you later....uhuh... by!" Kara then pretended the phone rang again and ran and got Halle. As she was coming back down the stairs. Halle said, "Can I call her back?" Kara said, "No if you keep calling that would be annoying!" Halle then pretended to call Kara's friend Madeline and said, "Hi Madeline we can't play right now, but I'll call you back after me and Kara get done playing Barbie.com."

And here they both are waiting to play Barbie.com so that is the end of this little update.

Ever Wonder how your 4 your old manages to get the Mail?

I heard some rummaging in the garage. When I finally made it outside to see what all the ruckus was, this is what I found. It's not easy being small!

Good job Halle! Always read the mail before you bring it into the house. You don't want to miss anything! No wonder I've been missing some bills (: I think she learned this trick from her big brother Kelton.

Halle looses her front tooth!

I don't cry when they go to kindergarten, but I do cry when their kindergarten picture is going to be toothless. After!
She's pretty cute toothless!
The abscess!

Right before!
She had fallen and hit her tooth probably 6 months prior to the abscess. At the time I thought her tooth might die, but was so happy that it didn't. Then I noticed her tooth was looking green. We lifted her lip and noticed the abscess. Brent called a dentist friend (Wade Pilling) and he said it would have to come out! He met Brent early the next morning at his office, numbed her up, gave her a little laughing gas, and yanked the tooth. He did it all for free, which we were very grateful for. Thank you so much for taking care of our little Halle, Dr. Pilling!!

Happy 7th Birthday Kelton!!

Happy Birthday to my little 7 year old boy! Kelton wanted a Boise Bronco party! He wanted his cake to be a Bronco helmet. He got the idea from his cousins birthday! So we borrowed all the stuff. I thought Kelton might not even know what was on the side of the helmet so I thought I'd put a big B or something easy. Right as I was about to put the B on he said, "mom don't forget to put the horse on the side of the helmet!" I looked at him and said, "how about just a B for Broncos?" He said, "but the helmet has a horse on it!" I said, "but I don't know if I can do that!" He said, "Mom Aunt Natalie made Reggie and George's cakes look exactly like the teams they like." (Thanks a lot aunt Natalie) So being the competitive not so artistic mom that I am I tried. He seemed happy with it, so I guess I did O.K.

Funny thing is no one even ate one bite of the cake! They all said, "No we don't really like cake!" Actually I was kind of glad, because I thought all the dye I had to put into the frosting might kill them, so it was probably one of those blessings in disguise!

Kelton really wanted a bike for his birthday, since the hand me down bike he had his older brother was always riding. He had it all planned out. He said, "mom so when you make the scavenger hunt for me to find the bike I'm getting for my birthday, make sure it's really hard, O.K." He really was not even going to get a bike, but I felt so bad we ended up doing a really hard scavenger hunt(well a lot of running) and at the end was the bike just like he had planned.

The party crew in their BSU gear! I talked Kelton into just a few kids. I think he was a little bit bummed, but he acted like it was alright. He does not like anyone to feel bad even me.

This is them on the scavenger hunt. We love our little Kelton. What's not to love about Kelton. Kelton is such a sweet little guy. Kelton loves to give squeezes and just over all is always trying to be good. Even if it is not his day to do the dishwasher he always jumps in and helps. If someone is crying about cleaning up Kelton will jump in and help to keep them from getting into trouble. Kelton's teacher asked me, "Does he ever do anything wrong?" Kelton adds so much to our family. He makes my job easy.

Kelton also likes to do everything perfect. He even thinks he should know things he has not been taught. Hayden was quizzing Kelton on the states and capitals and Kelton was getting so frustrated because he did not know the answers. He was determined to learn them all after I explained to him that there was no way he could even guess the state when he had never been taught them. I love this about Kelton. He is so determined even if he has to cry through it.

Kelton also always has something funny to say. I probably could have a whole book on the things Kelton says. He keeps us all laughing with out even trying.
The kids got their teacher progress reports today his teacher wrote, "Kelton is a dream studen! He is always on task and actively participates. Kelton gets aong with everyone. He tries his best on all assignments and completes work in a timely manner. He is a pleasure to have in class." Kelton has grown so much this last year. He has gained so much self confidence. I am so proud of how hard he works. I love you Kelton!!
