Keltonisms

Kelton is our child that is always busy, but is quiet so you don't notice what he is doing. Unfortunately he is also bossed around by his baby sister, poor guy. Saturday Kelton went upstairs and cut his hair. When I discovered what had happened I asked him why he had cut his hair? He said "I don't know mom, I've just always wanted to cut my hair." I would not have been upset except we are having family pictures taken this Friday!

Kelton also told Brent "When I grow up Dad, I don't want to kiss girls, O.K.!" This is one coming of age event that Kelton would like to skip all together. He has observed that men that are grown up kiss girls.

10-11-2008 Brent was telling Kelton that he was going to be a black belt Karate guy. Kelton said, "Your not a Karate guy, Dad!" Brent said "I'm not?" Kelton said, "No, Your a workout guy, Dad!"

Kelton also said, "Dad, Did you know that Aunt Natalie is stronger than George and Reggies, Dad!" Brent said, "Why do you keep saying that, Kelton?" Kelton said, "Well Natalie works out and George and Reggie's Dad does'nt!!"

10-21-08 Kelton was singing "Your a grand old flag, your a highflying flag........." Then he turned to me and asked "Does my heart really beat red, white, and blue?"

10-24-08 Kelton's goal is to Do your best and Forget the Rest!! He is going to finish and not quit or cry if he is not first or winning." At Karate class he was having a hard time hitting balls with his Shongs ja Bongs(sp), some of the other kids in the class were blasting them out of the gym! Kelton was also picked last during one of the activities, but he did not cry and he did his best!! Yeah for Kelton he is really trying to accomplish this goal!!

10-29-2008 Kelton came home today and told me "Mom 2 girls at my school told me red is a girl color! I asked Kara if red is a girl color and she said red can be a girl color and a boy color! I forgot to tell those two girls that red is a boy and a girl color today, now I have to wait until Monday to tell them!" He was a little distraught that those 2 girls are going to have to go another 4 days thinking that red is only a girl color!

10-29-2008 Kelton told me "Mom I wish there were 4 Halloweens so I could be Iron Man, then a Ninja, a Jedi, and Indian Jones, oh yeah and I want to be a Skeleton!" Can you tell Kelton is having a very hard time deciding what he wants to be.
12-10-2008 Kelton has this cute hat that I put on him when he goes to school. I think it is cute. So Kelton came home from school and he was sitting at the table with his hat on and he turned to me and said, "Mom do I have to wear this hat?" I said, "Why don't you like your hat?" He said well the kids at school laughed at me!" I said, "everyone?" He said, "No just two girls." I said, "Well, your hat keeps you warm and it looks good on you." He looked at me and said, "OK mom."
12-30-2008 Kelton was having a discussion with Brent and he asked "Dad who is stronger Superman or the Hulk?" Brent gave him some answer. Then Kelton proceeded to ask Brent "Dad Who is stronger Superman or Jesus?" Brent said, Jesus, because Superman is not real. Then Kelton asked "Dad who is strong Heavenly Father and Jesus together against all the Super Heros?" Brent said he believed Heavenly Father and Jesus.

Idaho Fitness Day with Tony Horton!!!

Me asking Brent to please not take the picture until I can give a good pose!! As I get older the angle on the photo needs to be just right as you can see the angle is really bad!
Brent and Tony showing off the Guns!
Me and Tony doing the X for P90X.
Brent and Tony showing the abs off, Brent wanted something to strive for. Tony is 50!!
Today was Idaho Fitness Day here in Idaho and what better way to celebrate than to work out with Tony Horton!! Brent and I have been working out in our Garage for over 2 years now to the P90x DVD's and decided to be Beachbody coaches about 6 months ago. So when we heard Tony was coming we jumped at the chance. It was great and a great new motivator to keep working out. Brent of course tried to get some pictures, and you know how guys are they are always getting a bad angle and the butt shot which I really hate!! Anyways it was a lot of fun and he is coming back next year. The diabetes foundation was there and so I talked to the lady in charge and I ended up setting up an appointment for the whole family to be in a world wide study to find a cure for type I Diabetes!! When the whole family comes for the BSU/Hawaii game they will take every ones blood in the family!! As most of you know my sister Kerri has suffered with Type I Diabetes, and wouldn't that be fun take part in finding a cure!! So family members get ready to give some blood, and be studied!!

School Carnival

Waiting in line for face painting.
A heart on one side and a rainbow for the other cheek, that's our Kara.
Kelton, Halle and Kara showing off their faces, actually Halle refused to look at the camera!
Well we did not get any great pictures at the Carnival, but we did go so I am documenting it!! The kids are always very excited about the school carnival and I really do not care for it!! Lots of lines, and they always seem to run out of pizza when I get to the front of the line. Halle actually fell asleep at the carnival and so was a little bit of a turkey until sleep took over her. Brent was running a Beachbody booth and so it was me and all 4 kids. Actually Hayden went off on his own so I only had the three. The kids were so happy about all the games and the silly toys that it made it all worth it!!

September 26th A normal school morning.

Well another morning is coming and going. I got up at 6 and got my workout in and then hurried and made breakfast and through the last touches of the kids lunches together. I don't know why everything seems to be such a rush, but it is! Kara and Kelton took a little longer than usual. They had gotten up and gotten all dressed, but wanted to surprise me with a beautifully made bed and clean room and playroom, which of course I love. Hayden got up at his 7:30am time, put on his school clothes announced to me his breakfast order and then back up to his room to read until breakfast is served. He is like a little Robot!! He loves routine, and is so consistent it totally surprises me. He could be dead tired and when his alarm clock rings he pops out of bed and the routine begins. Kara was a little upset as she wanted a new hairdo and I could not get it right. That was cause for some tears and a long explanation from Hayden on different hair types and why her hair could not look like her friend Kennedy's. Hayden's twitching dance as I squirted his hair with the squirt bottle eased her tears and brought some giggles to an other wise tense situation. Well all this caused us to have to hurry and get our coats and run to the bus stop barely making it!! Kelton was also in the mix, but kept to himself, only to inform me among the mix that he does not like eggs, and was wondering why I made him eggs when I know that he does not like them. Well I did not have a good answer for that one and therefore did not give him one. Thank goodness he just lets things go! Kelton may be upset but it blows over so quickly that it is not to bad!! Halle did her job of continuing to sleep!! What a good girl!! Kelton is out in the garage working out with Brent until school starts for him. He likes to punch the punching bag and do push ups and pull ups. He is pretty strong for a little guy. I am grateful to be a mom, and for all the ups and downs.

Halle Visits With Great Grandma Nanny and Great Great Aunt Grace

Aunt Grace reading Halle her 5th book, The Pokey Little Puppy being the favorite!
The train going under the Bridge (aka Halle's legs).
Halle and the ladies putting the train together.
Everyone, but Halle posing for a picture! Halle busy working on the Castle.
Aunt Grace inspecting the starburst stuck to Halle's teeth. Aunt Grace thought Halle had lots of teeth.

Tuesday September 23rd Halle and I went over to visit Nanny. Aunt Grace is visiting from Salt Lake City, Utah. Nanny is 90 years old and Aunt Grace is 95 years old. These two woman are unbelievable for any age. Halle loves to go and visit! While we were their they played about every game possible with 6 Starburst. They built a castle with Starburst and also made a train out of Starburst. Halle thought it was lots of fun and so did the ladies. I had to run home and get my camera, they were all so cute with each other, and had so much to talk about! Aunt Grace even read stories with Halle! Her eye site is great. I asked her the key to living young and she said it was all those Shackley vitamins. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and they still had not eaten anything, so maybe it is the starvation diet that is keeping them so young. They were funny! They did not know if they should eat bacon and eggs or if they should have some fresh peaches and toast! I suggested they should have both, but they were afraid it would spoil their dinner! The funny thing was they didn't know what they were going to have or if they were going to have dinner. Funny little ladies!!

Bugs

Kara and Halle trying to share the Leaf bug.
Still trying.
Lets try on Halle's little finger!! I love those little hands!!
Trying to keep those hands steady!
Kara with the Leaf bug!
Halle finally gets it on her hand and then completely freaks out!
Hayden finds the Leaf bug.
It looks just like a leaf!
Kara trying to share it with Halle.
Halle trying to be brave.

Kids just love bugs. Hayden found this Leaf bug in Grandmas backyard and the kids thought is was the best thing ever. Halle was scared, but she really wanted to hold it anyways. Hayden of course loves bugs. Halle is still not sure what to think about bugs. We did however have to have a lesson on the bugs you can touch after Kelton came home carrying a scary looking spider! After that discussion Halle has been terrorized by the flies that keep getting into our home. I am not very good with the fly swatter, but have been perfecting my skills as Halle cannot eat or do anything but point out the fly while he/she is in the house.

BSU beats the DUCKS

This is my brother Dallas. Dallas has been providing our family entertainment for the past 4 years. Well actually for longer than that (he is the baby of the family and that is what the baby is suppose to do, right?) He gives us all a good reason to get together frequently!! Some families get together for weddings, blessings, but the Dobbs family gets together to see Dallas play football!! It has been a lot of fun so we are going to be sad to see this last year end!! There is a chance however that the football may go on if Dallas gets to play some professional ball! I've heard he can snap at the speed of the pros, so who knows!! Great game Dallas!!

Halleisms

Halle walked into the play room and it was a complete mess! She looked around and said, "Holy Crap!" I looked at her and I said who says Holy Crap and she said "Daddy." Then she said, "Holy Crap we gota clean this up, mom."

9/28/08 Kara got home from Ballet and went to the backyard to find Kara, when Halle saw Kara she said, "Oh my gosh, Kara, you are beautiful! Ballet, Ballet, Ballet! Your are beautiful! It was very cute and she was so dramatic as she talked to Kara. This little girl has so much personality, I can't even believe she is mine!

10/3/08 Everyday Halle states "I need to go to Grandma's house right NOW!"

On the way to the Air Show!
Brent decided to get me in one, but the kids just would not look at the camera!
Kids in front of one of the jets.
Close up in front of the jet! Kelton giving his best smile ever!
Kids in one of the military trucks! Halle is a pill when it comes to getting her picture taken!
Another picture! Hayden taking control of the situation!!

Saturday we woke up early, skipped the workout and headed to the air show. Well we did wake up early for a Saturday, but it took us forever to leave the house! Who knows why! Everything takes us a long time. The show was amazing and we wished we could have stayed longer, but of course we were in the race of our lives! Everything we do seems to be a race! Hurry here, hurry their, hurry everywhere!!! Hayden had a soccer game later that day and so we had to hurry to that. Unfortunately, he missed half of his game, but it was worth it, how many times do you get to see jets flying right over your head twisting and turning!!
I do, however, hate being late to things so the drive to the game was a little stressful for me! I found my blood pressure rising and had to resign myself to deep breathing and refrain from looking at the clock. Brent of course was not bothered in the least ( He actually is more calm if he is late, his blood pressure actually increases if he gets somewhere on time)!
Later that night we raced to Dallas' BSU football game! Yeah we were on time! Dallas did great and we had fun! Halle of course was not excited in the least about having a babysitter. I made the mistake of telling her we were having a babysitter hoping this would help her adjustment period. She cried for an hour and then actually when the babysitter arrived she was too pooped to cry, so I don't know what is worse, tears for an hour before or not crying when we leave.

Halle Potty Trained!

Halle is finally potty trained!! Actually she was pretty easy. We started thinking about potty training quite a while ago, but I really was not ready for it! Halle of course decided she needed to wear princess panties and so we did (whatever Halle says we do). We had a few accidents and went back to diapers. I new she was ready to jump into it full swing when she would ask me "Mom do I have a diaper on?" She new she was not to pee or poop unless she was wearing a diaper. So if I said yes she would then go in her diaper and if I said no she would run into the bathroom and pee in the potty!! Yeah!!!!! Well it was kind of a yeah. Halle was scared to do her real business in the toilet ( I mean I don't mind changing wet diapers, it's the poopy ones that we potty train for, peeing in the toilet is more of an inconvenience especially in public restrooms). So when Halle would have to go she would get on the potty and go pee and then would jump off and say "I need a diaper!" Of course I would get her one and then she would go and then she would get me the wet wipes and proceed to tell me "change me". OK she is a little bossy. Well Grandma thought of getting a little potty and we did (because what grandma says we also do), well it worked! Halle love the pink potty and she sat down and told me "go away mom" and when I came back she was all done!!! YEAH!! I don't much like cleaning a little potty, but I guess it is better than the diaper. Four days and no accidents! Way to go Halle!!

Kelton!

You know how they say a picture says a thousands words (I think that is what they say, I am terrible at quotes). Well this one describes Kelton! Kelton dressed up in this outfit and wore it all over the neighborhood. When Brent got home from work he asked, "Kelton what are you?" Kelton replied with "I am a cowboy, a Knight, a pirate (a.k.athe eye patch), and an army guy!" Brent said "What is the white glove for?" Kelton responded "Oh that's for the princesses." Kelton keeps us laughing and really is in his own little world! Kelton is banned however from pouring himself a glass of milk as he has spilled his milk 6 times in the last two days! I was trying to look on the bright side by saying well it forced mommy to clean the floor so it is nice and clean now, but I really don't think the floor needs that much cleaning. Just better to ban Kelton from pouring his own milk for a while to save moms sanity!!

Halle and Kelton Playing!

Halle and Kelton decided they want to dance, so we turned on the music and they did a little dancing! It ended up being more of a jump fest! Just getting a little bored one day while Hayden and Kara were at school!

Halle a little burnt out after all the jumping!

Kelton and Halle making themselves into bridges.

Halle doing the head dance.

Halle is doing one of her big jumps in her favorite outfit a ballet suit and ballet slippers!
Kelton going for the big jump!

Kelton landing his jump. He really wanted a picture of himself in the air.
