Summer 2008

This was our 2nd summer here in Idaho. We spent a lot of time outside, swimming, biking, floating the Boise river, visiting the zoo, playing at the water park, and boating. We really stayed close to home except for a short trip to Utah to see Halle's endocrinologist for her hypophosphatemic rickets. Everything is looking good and her next apt. is not until October 9th. We also headed to Cascade for a great reunion with the Dobbs family.

Hayden and Kelton celebrated there much anticipated birthdays!! Hayden's was Star Wars themed and Kelton's was pirate themed. Of course Kelton was about every super hero at his party. He just could not stay a pirate!! We started out as black spider man and ended as the red spider man. We also had loads of fun with our little cousins Reggie and George who spent lots of time with us this summer. Kara and Kelton learned to ride 2 wheelers, and have only crashed about a billion times. Kara had one really bad crash that scratched her nose up good and caused mom to let out a horrified gasp, but it is all healing and were still riding and crashing. Grandma taught everyone bike safety (were still perfecting this), and art! Halle of course was in heaven spending her days wandering between Grandma and Nanny's house!! She definitely is a little spit fire! She is very lovable and huggable one moment and the next she is telling us all to go to you know where!! We have had lots of laughs with her and wish we could keep her little forever!!

We then headed back to school!! Here are a few pictures I took right around school starting! The kids were really excited for school, they had a hard time sleeping. Both Hayden and Kara love their school teachers!! Kelton and Halle and me enjoyed swimming lessons and a day out to Costco with just 2 kids :) Wow that was actually fun and I actually came home with all the things on my list!! We met Kara at the bus stop and all she could say was I need to get home!! I just really need to get home! A full day of school had taken its toll on our little Kara!! Hayden is taking soccer now, Kara is signed up for ballet (which she is very excited about) and Kara and Kelton are taking Karate! Yeah! Kelton loves it and can make it through the class without falling down and crying! I think we finally succeeded in finding something that doesn't just frustrate the pants off of him!!

Alison, I'm so glad you have a blog... I'm sure we'll keep in touch now. Your family is beautiful. I can't wait to see more. So- do you live in Idaho, or were you just there for summer fun? Vegas? Funny that we both ended up with some red-headed kids.
