Down South!

Well here goes I'm going to try and do a little update!  I am a little behind, but I'm just going to start here and fill in later.  Oh one more thing I've decided to stop the automatic e-mail send unless you send me an e-mail saying you want me to keep automatically e-mailing this to you.  Grandma I'll keep sending it to you and Mom and Dad other wise you can just log in when you want to find out something about  us and then it won't be annoying to anyone.  I don't really want to be that person that everyone is saying Alison sent another e-mail blaa blaa blaa!

So here Hayden is the first day of school!  Looks a little nervous, but he did great!  He is very motivated by all the incentives!  Platinum, Gold, Silver cards are given for good behavior and grades.  Brent went in with him.  I was too scared!!!  Those kids are big!  Anyways Brent talked to all the kids and made a few friends for Hayden so he had someone to sit by at lunch.

I'm in line to pick the kids up from school.  This lady stops on the train tracks and gets out of her car!!  Who would do that?  The trains are always driving through this town!
We went to the beach!  The air was 90 degrees.  The water was at least 95 degrees. The humidity was oh 90 percent!  Looks fun, huh?  I thought I was going to die!  Me and Halle were melting.  I keep saying I'm melting, and so Halle asked me the other day, "Can people really melt?"  She was glad when I told her they couldn't.  I'm sure she had been waiting for me to turn into a little puddle of water soon!  Poor girl!

The kids in front of their very strict school!  Everyone sits boy girl boy even during lunch,  Everyone is Miss, Responses are all followed by Yes Ma'm and Yes Sir, No one is allowed to stand for any reason what so ever, No talking during lunch, One 15 minute recess, and lots of loud Ya all better sit in your seat right now!  I'm sure there are more rules.  I'm trying to learn them all too.  The other night Kara brought her homework home and had to do Bell Ringers!  What in the world are Bell Ringers?  I guess a bell ringer is all the assignments on a sheet of paper for a particular day!  For example Monday's Bell Ringers would be spelling math sheet etc.  Well I was thinking we had to make some sort of Bell Ringer anyways it really messed us up!
Kara organized her little area when we got here!  I thought it was cute!  We did not have any of our furniture at the time!

O.K. I'm going to try to give a quick run down even though this is probably the last thing I should be doing!  I actually have to finish putting my house in order, get Kelton something for his birthday today, take treats to Kelton's class, and pick up the tuba at the school, and go back to the school and pay for breakfast that Halle decided to eat today at school.  We took the bus for the first time today.  Kara and Halle were both crying by the time they got to school.  Kara got car sick from the ride and Halle is sad if anyone is sad and happy if anyone is Happy.  Anyway crying has become a common occurrence in the Hucks home.  Moving is just hard.  Kelton prayed ,"Please bless that we can have a good day at school and that no one will cry before we go to school!"  Well lets see our stuff finally arrived on Saturday.  Tons of ward members showed up to help us!  By the time we were done unloading everyone looked as though they had jumped into a pool of water and not dried off!  My little Keltonator was working so hard he was dripping and his hair was even wetter than when he takes a bath.  The kids were great help and they have battle wounds to prove it!  Kara counted over 20 mosquito bites, and the number grows daily.  Bugs Bugs Bugs!  That should be another blog!  By the way I have termites in the trees in my yard.  No one seems concerned but me!  Also there are jumping spiders, I guess they are good because I saw one jump on a termite and eat it.  Termites look like little weevils, YUCK!  There are also ants and bugs that roll into little balls so you can't see them. Oh and did I mention the raccoons that get into your garbage?  Really no big deal, and no one is concerned but me!  Back to the move! The kids started school next.  BIG shock!  Hayden entered military school so he's happy.  He gets to pretend like hes a soldier all day long!  He has 3 minutes between classes, and the consequences for disobedience are stiff!!  Kelton stated after going to his first computer class, "I'd rather have a bird pecking at my head all day than go to computer class with that teacher."  The next day he got the highest math score on his test.  He scored at a 4th grade level and so he got to be at the front of the line so it did get better.   So the other day Halle found one of her purses that had been packed.  It is a red sequence purse and she said, "Mom I need this I'm a FASHION Girl!!!"  "I love pretty things!"  Hayden was also giving a lesson to the other children over snack time on finances and HalleHalle's teacher has a helper named Miss Cooker.  Well miss Cooker keeps forgetting Halle's name.  So Halle said, "Miss Cooker your silly you keep forgetting my name!"  Guess who got into trouble?  Not Miss Cooker.  Halle said Miss Cooker is a grandma!  Her hair is gray and so is her skin!  Kara and Kelton describe everyone as tan and tanner.  O.K just so you know our school is about 50 percent white and 50 percent black.  They no longer believe that cousin Reggie is tan!  Well I could go on and on, but soon I am going to be berried by all my stuff!!!  Oh we do have very nice neighbors.  They loaned us some blow up mattresses and everyone is friendly.  Come visit, we actually live in a different country so you can check it off your list of country's you've been too.  I'll even teach you that language down here.  I'm finally saying it right.  I really do live down here!  I'll post more pictures later!  I don't have time to proof so I don't want anyone telling me I used the wrong context or spelled anything wrong.  If it bothers you just quickly push delete or have fun proofing, paragraphing, or just laughing at my crazy english!

Hayden Turns 12!

Hayden Turned the BIG 12!  He was so excited to get the priesthood and pass the sacrament.  He did a great job!  Grandpa got him to church the required 35 minutes early so he would be able to pass the sacrament.  There are 21 Deacons and only 8 spots to pass.  It feels funny writing this like it is a race or something to be the first one to church so you can pass the sacrament.  We are so proud of Hayden for always wanting to choose the right.  He is a very good boy and is always keeping us all in line.

Wow Hayden has gotten so old so fast.  Today he told me "Mom I need more of a schedule!"  "I need to be in bed by 10pm and awake by 9:30 or 10am.  I've been missing meals!  I need breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  And not just one sausage for breakfast.  I need a real meal.  I'm getting headaches and nausea.  I need a schedule."  So of course I say "'oh its 10pm hurry you've got to get to bed."  He then says "Mom if we hurry and get into our PJs will you take us to watch the fireworks in the car?"  I said, "I thought you wanted to be in bed by 10?"  He then says "I do, but mom its 10:15pm."  I then say, "hurry and get ready for bed."  He says, "then can we go see the fireworks?"  Is there logic in this?  I do agree we need a better summer schedule.  We have definitely been partying like were ROCKSTARS!  Trying to get every bit of fun, cousin, and friend time in before we move.  I guess it's taking it's toll on Hayden. I remember when my kids were little thinking 12 year olds were soooo old, but now I know they are still just little boys!

We took Hayden and his friends paint balling!  They were all very excited and Hayden thought it was a great birthday!  He chose Tres Leches for his cake!

Cousin George, friend Zac, friend Tyler, Hayden, and friend/ neighbor Peyton!

Grandma and grandpa took him for breakfast and to the Nike store.  He thought it was awesome.  It was such a crazy time with us moving out and trying to get settled in so I'm glad Hayden still thought he had a great birthday!

End of Year beginning of June Catch-up!

Well here goes I'm going to try and catch up on the last 4 weeks.  So much happened I don't think I can remember it all, but I'm going to try!  My baby girl graduated from preschool with all of her friends.  I love love love these kids!

See how happy I am (:  Of course I cried about my last preschool graduation.  It was a little bitter sweet for me.  Time just goes by so quickly.  I was a little sad that Halle was not going to continue her education here with all her little friends too.  I had just imagined myself being able to watch all these little kids grow up together.

Me and my little group at graduation!  They did a great job singing for our program!

Me and Halle!  We missed having Brent there with us, but we sent him a video.

Kelton my smart little guy with his teacher!  The BEST TEACHER IN THE WHOLE WORLD!  I wish all the teachers in the world were as awesome as Mrs. A!  She was so loving and taught the kids so much.  She is definitely one in a million.  I'm so glad my little Keltonator was blessed to have her as his teacher.  I'm so sad Halle is going to miss having her.  We might just have to come back!

Halle with her Friday play date singing while I packed!

They 've got the moves!

Halle and Kara went to cheer camp for a couple days at Rocky Mountain High School.  It was a little crazy, and we had a little peanut scare so I don't think I'll do that one again (well if I were going to be around).

Hayden graduated from 5th grade!!!

He received the Presidential Award!!!!
Awesome job HAYDEN!

He goes to the dreaded middle school next year!

We had to take lots of pictures of his last days as an Elementary school student!

Hayden with his award in front of the school.

While we were busy with end of year activities and packing Brent was busy working in Mississippi and also took a little trip to Tennessee to visit his sister Aunt Jenny and their family.  Brent was gone for seven weeks and then returned home again to help us move out of our home.  I had started packing back in March!  I sorted, gave away half of the stuff in my home.  My mom and dad took loads of stuff to D.I for me.  I gave tons of stuff to friends and lots to G&G to give to family, and it still seemed as though I would never get to the bottom of all of my stuff!!!  UGH!!!  Did I say UGH!  I should probably say some type of swear word, but I don't know any!  Anyways I packed and packed and packed and packed!  Grandpa came over lots to help me take loads to Nanny's garage.  I never would have gotten done with out his help!  I did take a little break from packing to complete my 80hr nursing refresher  (yeah I have my license all updated).  Then Brent came home and we packed and we sold stuff and we packed stuff and we sold stuff........ I never thought we were going to get done.  From the time Brent got home on Tuesday until the following Wednesday we worked from sun up until well about midnight.  I HATE MOVING!  Well enough of that!  Were all moved out and all my boxes are numbered and in Nanny's garage and we are so happy Nanny let us move in with her.

The kids built a sand castle while we were packing.

We took the kids to Thor while Brent was in town!

We thought the movie was AWESOME!

Brent took the kids to Target and let them dress up!

Kelton wanted a Thor hammer, but decided $20 was too much to spend on a hammer.

Oh yeah and a good friend took the boys to our father and sons since Brent was in Mississippi.  The boys were so glad they got to go.  They love to camp and pick up snakes!  YUCK I HATE SNAKES!

Hayden caught a fish!

Oh yeah and the we took a bike ride to get a little snow cone.

It ended up being a 3 hour ride.  We got a little lost, but those snow cones sure were good!

My bum is still sore from the ride and so is my sunburned back!  Kara did not want to hear me voice the words "I think we go" one more time!  I should write something more about the bike ride, but it is well past my bedtime and the pictures make it look like a fun little jaunt to the neighborhood snow shack, and I think that is the way I would like to remember it!  Especially after I found out that there is a snow shack just up the street by our Walgreens.
Well Brent is back in Mississippi and thinks he has found a home for us.  So I guess that means it's "FOR REALS!"

Memorial Day!

Me (Alison Kate) and Halle Kate by my Great Grandma Kate's grave.

The boys at the graveyard in Emmett.

The whole gang.  Grandpa took the picture.

We went to the park afterwards.

Last year there was a nest in this bush and so we were hoping to see it again this year.

Grandpa relaxing!

Halle she likes to pose for pictures for me.

Kelton at one of the grave sites.

Grandma Benge with some of her Great Grandchildren on Memorial Day weekend.

The tank in Emmett.  The kids really wanted their picture in front of this tank!

We went to Emmett to decorate the graves on memorial day weekend.  When I was a child we used to go to Emmett and decorate the graves and then have a picnic in the park.  We went to RoAnns (an old hamburger joint) and then to the only park in Emmett (well that I know of).  I think we all had a good time.

Easter and Some of May!

Here goes a lengthy update from me!  I can't seem to get to the point with out writing a lot.  I wish I was a more concise writer, but I'm not.  After helping Kelton with his report on Ants I realized I'm not concise and according to Kelton "those are not first grade words" and "that is way too much information for a first grader to write!"
Here Halle is looking very cute in her Easter dress!  She wanted me to keep taking pictures of her smiling etc.

I know there is a lot of her, but she is the only one who wants to get her picture taken and you know as a mom sometimes you think well than fine there just won't be any pictures of you!  It's not because I don't love you it's because you were uncooperative!!!!

A good friend of ours gave us a free ticket so Brent could come home for Easter!  It was the best gift ever!

Kelton scaling walls!  His favorite thing!  He's my little gadget guy.  All the things Brent used to do like blast the music for us (since I don't know how any of those systems work) Kelton does!  Who knows how he figured it all out.  I definitely did not teach him since I can barely get the T.V. turned on!  I decided to be creative the other day and try to upload music to Brent's music thing. So I end up erasing all the music which was fine because I didn't really want to listen to his crazy songs, but then hit auto fill and it filled it back up with everything in our itunes.  So now I have every star wars song, and every primary song with and with out singing on my ipod and I can't figure out how to delete it all at once and the one at a time delete thing is taking forever!

Hayden was chosen to be in this theatre thing at school.  It is some accelerated arts program.  He was referred back in second grade and tried out and made it.  Well after that your just grandfathered in unless you opt out.  Well that first year he had to play a mouse that was in love with another mouse and after that he never wanted to go back.  This year they were begging him to do it, and so was I, but he absolutely refused.  He finally told me if I got the Drama teacher to promise he would not have to play the part of anyone who liked or had to hint at liking a girl he might consider it.  I guess the girl that sits next to him at school kicks him in the shins all day long so maybe that's why he doesn't like girls.

Kara my little helper!  What would I do with out her.  Isn't it nice to be able to ask someone to do something and have it done exactly the way you wanted it done.  This girl never cuts corners or tells me she's all finished when she's not.  I am getting tired of the home work thing though.  We get these articles we have to read and then there is always a dumb question that has nothing to do with what we just read.  It remind me of when I went to BYU.  I'd go to all these lecture and read the book 2 or 3 times and then I'd go to take the test and think why did I read the book and go to that guys lecture this test has nothing to do with any of that!

Sometimes I think about skipping a holiday and all the work and then I feel bad when I see how excited the kids get!  Hayden says I never get to have any fun!  Hmmm I don't know it that's true, but I guess it might seem that way to a kid.  Maybe I need to look like I'm having more fun when I'm cleaning up root-beer that has been knocked off the table at speeds nearing 100 miles an hour some how hitting every square inch of the house with in a 10ft radius.

I thought about staying on one subject as I updated these pictures, but my mind doesn't really work that way so I've decided not to fight it!

We hide the eggs really hard(:

EASTER PICTURE 2011
Don't they look cute in their new Easter outfits?

Preschool picture!  My baby is getting big!

Kelton and his trophy!  Kelton played really hard the whole season.  He did his best every game. I love that he really puts his whole heart into everything he does.  Unfortunately his little heart gets broken quite a bit.  The other day when that root beer was spilled.  I cried the whole time I was cleaning it up.  Kelton went up stairs and wrote me a note about how much he loved me and how he appreciated all the work I do around the house for the whole family.  It was the sweetest little note.  He's my thoughtful little guy.

We had our end of the year recital and the kids did great this time!!

Boy does it help when we practice!

These pictures are  little out of order like my brain!    I love Tulips and for some reason they make me feel like I might be able to plant something and keep it alive.  I know I'm only kidding myself, but hey it makes me feel good for a few moments.

Halle just spilled her orange juice as I'm typing this and turned to me and said, "don't be sad please it makes me cry!"

Kara and our favorite piano teacher! We are really going to miss her!  She's such a great person.

Hayden and Gwen!

Kelton and Gwen!

Like I said I don't have favorites!  I just have some that are more cooperative when it comes to me taking pictures!

Isn't this cool?

Yeah football is over!  After the game the assistant coach said he thought Hayden was the most improved player.  Hayden then said to me in the car "do you know why he said I was the most improved because he couldn't think of anything else to say.  How can you be the most improved player and never even get to play in the game?"  He then said, "I know he wanted to win so he only wanted to play the best players!"  The truth is he sat the same 5 kids out almost the whole game and we lost.  I think the assistant coach felt a little bad because at the end of the game when he said Hayden was the most improved player he also said something about each of the other boys that had sat out almost the entire game.  That is obviously why Hayden did not feel like it was heart felt.  The kids know exactly what it going on.  Sometimes as a parent you hope that it's all just going over their heads.  Sometimes I really hate FOOTBALL!  I won't go into my hate football rant, actually I don't really hate football.  I hate stupid football junky parents!  They are lame and they think they are cool like they are in high school again or something.

So there is my update.  I'm sure I'm the only one still reading.  Let's see what have I forgotten.  What am I going to do with out my Mom and Dad?  They've been helping so much that I don't even know how to thank them.  What am I going to do with out all my amazing friends who drop things to help me all the time?  What am I going to do with out Nat my confidant?  What am I going to do with out George and Reggie who are like brothers to my kiddos?  O.K enough of that it only makes me cry!

Lets see I have only 2 more weeks of preschool!  I start my 80 hours of nursing next week and then hopefully will have my license by the end of May!!!!  We move out of our home on the 13th of June!  Brent comes home after being gone for 3 very long months for a couple weeks to help with the move.  I have to say that this has been unbelievably torturous and we miss him tons!  Kelton said the other day, "I just want us all to be together, and go to the movies, and just all be together!"  Oh and Hayden turns 12 and gets the priesthood and will be passing the sacrament!
Now I've written so much that there is no time to proof read!
