School Kiddos!

Hayden was selected to try out for the Challenge program at school.  He had to memorize two pages of lines and then acted them out.  He was the only student that added an accent to his part.  They only selected a few student and so he was really excite to be chosen.  On Fridays they are bused to another school and learn a play, and then will perform in it.  Hayden also has completed the first three Harry Potter's in one week!  Sometimes I forget to write about my little Hayden who is getting big!
Kara very proud of her ice house!  Her ice cube took 3 hours to melt in this concoction.  She really just wanted it to be beautiful.  I am terrible at these kinds of projects and so is Brent.   Grandma please help us!  I remember my mom always had the best ideas and my project was always the very best!  Sorry kiddos I did not inherit those genes!

O.K. this is my kids all bundled up everyday before school!  It is very cold!  We did get a little sun and it was 35 degrees the other day.  Kara asked me that day "how warm is it?"  I told her 35 and she said, "35 is so warm!!!!!!!!"  and she was serious!

Kelton Pondering Life!

So Kelton Decided he knows exactly how the Holy Ghost came to be!!! "When Darth Vader Died he turned into the Holy Ghost!" I guess he does look a little like a ghost! I guess we need to do some teaching around here! What has Brent been teaching him???

HALLE's NEW OLD BED!

ThE BiG ReD BeD
I know she is 3 and most 3 year olds have been in a big bed for a long time, but she always just stayed in her crib. I think she could get out, but she just did not! Now she gets out and my mom told me this horror story about this baby getting stuck between the bed and the wall and so well obviously now she is in this hopefully safe bed!
Reggie, Kelton, and Halle in one of their many dress ups!
Halle telling me not to take a picture!
Kelton lined all the cars, trucks, and boats up through Kara's room and into the playroom! I think the mermaid Barbie may get run over, I don't know why he put her there!
Reggie and Kelton about to kill themselves! Halle watching and learning!
I am all about Safety, notice the bean bags (Grandpa close your eyes)!
Halle obviously distraught over the complete mess!
Kelton in another costume! This playroom needs some serious cleaning! We need Kara to come home! That is sad to say, but very true! She'd have the place looking spiffy in no time!

So we took down the crib and moved Halle to Kelton's bottom bunk! She is so Happy about it she can hardly stand it! She loves to show everyone her new bed! I had a hard time deciding what I should do with her and just decided she had to stay in the boy room with the sports and car decor.! She doesn't seem to care! Kelton is sharing Kara's very girly room with her and she is really resisting allowing her giggling bed buddy to move out! Every night after we kiss Kara and Kelton Goodnight as we are leaving (well as Brent is leaving I usually beat him out) they say about a million "Hey Dad's" (ex. Hey Dad how many stars are there? Hey Dad can you lay by us? Hey Dad can you tell us a story?, well you get the idea). So Brent has now limited them to only one "Hey Dad" each night! So the other night there "HEY DAD" was "Hey dad can you get mom?" Very good at prolonging their good nights!

2 Little Turkeys

Yes, this is Grandpa and He is in the Kitchen with these two crazy boys!  And in case your wondering he did nothing to stop these little kiddos!
 Grandpa Turning a blind eye!
Kelton and Reggie after they smeared whip cream all over their faces and hands!  I really don't know why they thought this was a good idea.  I would hate to have sticky whip cream all over me!  I did have to laugh a little though!  It's hard to get mad at little faces that look like that!

These two boys are always together!  They probably think they are twins (actually they don't I mentioned this one time and Reggie looked at me and said "I don't have red hair!" and Kelton just laughed!)  Reggie is only a month and a head taller than Kelton!  I love watching them play, and to try to work things out!

Bee Sting Lips for Free!

Have you ever thought about having your lips filled with collagen to get nice plump lips?  Halle found another way!  It was absolutely free, but is very painful!
Halle climbed up on the stool in the bathroom to wash her hands!  Leaned over a little too far and slipped off the stool hitting her mouth on the sink!  Her top teeth went through her top lip and her bottom teeth went through her bottom lip.  Her gums were a complete mess, but we were blessed as none of her teeth fell out!!!
There was so much blood I really thought all of her teeth were gone!  Halle was a trooper and actually looks rather cute with big full lips!  We are all on Halle watch and  are really trying to avoid any more falls!  I have been having nightmares of children with big huge bumps on their heads!

Martin Luther King Jr Day as told by a 6 year old!

Kara was in the back of the car with Kelton. Kara said, "you know why we are celebrating?" Kara then said "because it is King Martins Birthday, but it is really sad!" She went on to say, "white skins and brown skins could not go to the same school! White skins had to drink out of white drinking fountains and brown skins had to drink out of brown drinking fountains! And do you know what the worst thing was? Brown skins could not play with white skins!! Do you know Kelton that I would have had to go to a different school than you and Hayden and Halle, because I have brown skin and you guys have white skin? Well, you know what? King Martin changed all that and then they shot him! Right Mom?" She went on to say, "These white skins were not nice to King Martin and they made fun of him, but he worked really hard, and now we can all hold hands and love each other! They killed him though so it is really sad, but he helped so it is happy too!"

Kelton just nodded and listened while I tried to keep myself in check! I love to listen to thier interpretations of everything!

Fun Pictures!

Halle spotted her self in the mirror with this Up-Du and just about giggled her head off, she thought it looked like there was an ice cream cone on her head!
George and Hayden snow boarding! Waiting in line for the chair! They were up and down the mountain like crazy!

Kelton skiing! Brent didn't get a picture of little Kara, she was with me, and the Hallester was hanging out with her favorite pals Grandma and Grandpa!

Halle being the ballet princess that she is, leg warmers and all! Halle now gets out of bed all by herself and just comes down stairs! Time for a big girl bed! I keep the crib until they can get out. Why fix something if it isn't broken!
Being a mom is definitely the most rewarding job! I feel so much joy when my kids are happy and especially when they are really thoughtful and kind to one another! It just makes your heart melt! My little Kara and Kelton are just the best of friends and they are always taking care of each other. It is so sweet.

Oh one more picture! Halle fell and split her head open! We super glued it back together! Thanks Ryan for all your free advice! Halle's head is healing beautifully! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for keeping Halle distracted while she was being SUPER GLUED!!

Student of the Month!

Kara still a little sleepy looking with her award!
Kara is the one on the far left!
Our little Kara was chosen as student of the month! She was very excited about being chosen. We are so happy that she is being such a great student and good person at school and with her friends. The character award for the month was Responsibility!! Grandma and Grandpa came to show their support and that made Kara feel really good! Hayden was happy to see everyone at school too! Our principal is such a good person and is truly a great example of what it means to love your job! I don't think I could wish for a better school for my kids! They just really encourage the children to do their best and be really good people! It is so nice to be around so many people that really care and are making the world a better place one child at a time!!

New Year!

Well a new year has begun and I don't seem to be able to get myself motivated! Even blogging has been hard for me! I have thought of a lot to say, but just have not wanted to write anything down! I guess sometimes you just feel like that, whatever that is! I have managed to kick myself out of bed every morning to exercise, which I have not wanted to do. I really have just wanted to stay in bed and sleep, but that just makes everything worse! I'm glad I finally learned that one. I also decided to give up carbonated drinks, due to my recent kidney stone! That is probably the reason I am dragging! I also have decided to eat better so have been eating broccoli like it is going out of style (lets see how long that will last). I like junk at night! Wonder if I'll ever be able to kick that bad habit! This blog seems a little blaw just like I am feeling! I think I am ready for Spring!!

Year in Review
O.K. lets see now that I am rolling I thought I would give a little run down of our year. O.K. lets see Hayden turned 9, played soccer, piano, went to scouts (which he loves), went fishing and caught a fish (which he also loved), learned to wake board, and learned to snowboard. Hayden reads like a maniac. He was tested at school and is reading at an 11th grade level. Hayden does what needs to be done and is very obedient! He likes rules and likes them to be kept.
Kara turned 6, started ballet, earned her orange belt in Karate, learned to read better, sang a solo in church (and did really good), tried to wake board, and learned to snow ski (which she loves). Kara is very sweet and always trying to please everyone. She is very helpful. She is always cleaning and trying to do what is right. She plays with Halle and Kelton is always very kind and loving with them. She loves everything girly! Here is an example of my thoughtful little Kara (story overheard by Aunt Natalie) Kelton had decided that his favorite friend was his cousin George. Kelton was going to tell his cousin Reggie that his favorite friend was George. Kara kindly told Kelton that he should not do this, because this would hurt his cousin Reggie's feelings.
Kelton turned 5, started preschool, got his orange belt in Karate, took swimming lessons, tried to wake board, learned to snow ski, and is learning to read! Kelton is our little love bug. If you are sitting anywhere pretty soon there will be a little person curled up in your lap squeezing your arm or holding your hand. Kelton is very sensitive. Halle on occasions has looked at him with a dirty look and made him cry (she can give dirty looks). Kelton said today "You know what mom?" I said, "What Kelton" and he said, "when Grandpa takes us to McDonald's he always lets us have a Happy Meal!" "He is really nice!" I am glad the simple things in life make Kelton so happy!
Halle turned the big 3! Let's see Halle loves Ballet, Grandma, lipstick, pappy, and blankie!! Every day Halle asks me to put on her Ballet clothes and then she says "Is grandma home?" Sometimes she'll answer and say "no she is at the store!" or "no she is at grandma Benges!" You can tell the excuses I have been giving her! If she sees grandpa or grandma she always tries to yell "Can I come to your house?" "I want to go to your house!" Halle also loves to sing. She sings all kinds of songs as she plays with her "girls"(princesses)!

We also went to lots of BSU games. My little brother Dallas played for the Broncos! I took a girls trip to San Francisco with some friends (very fun), we had an awesome Dobbs Family Reunion at Lake Cascade, did lots of boating, I planned the ward camp out for church (not so fun), Brent ran Robbie Creak (1/2 marathon uphill, very cold, very fast), we made a few trips to Utah to see Halle's Dr.'s and the Hucks Clan (very fun, Dr.-not so fun), and have spent lots of time with grandma and grandpa and George and Reggie while Brent has been reinventing himself.

As you can see our lives relolve around these sweet little spirits that add so much joy and chaos to our lives!!
